Your questions stay out
of our knowledge base.

The knowledge base contains public-service guidance and references to official sources. It is not a collection of people’s conversations.

The application does not save questions or answers to its database. There is no document upload feature. The chat keeps recent messages in memory in your open browser tab so it can understand follow-ups, and sends that context with each new question.

A small amount of
technical information.

Request limits help keep this public prototype available and reduce misuse. A temporary, coded identifier derived from the client network address is used to count requests. The request counters do not contain the raw network address or your question.

Counter buckets expire two days after creation; expired entries are removed during later accepted requests, so deletion is not guaranteed at exactly 48 hours. Our application logs record model usage, search counts, token totals, and error codes, rather than conversation text.

Vercel hosting receives ordinary network and request information, including your IP address. Hosting and AI providers may separately process technical and security information under their own policies.

The services behind
the answer.

Vercel hosts the website and chat service. Its AI Gateway routes requests to OpenAI, which processes your question and relevant context to generate an answer. Supabase hosts the public-service knowledge base and temporary request counters. It also processes search queries that the assistant derives from your question to find relevant guidance; our application does not save these search queries in its tables.

Not creating an account here does not make a conversation anonymous to every provider. This page does not promise zero retention, processing only in India, or that no provider can access request data.

In your browser.

You do not need a site account. The current chat is held in the open tab rather than a saved account history. Starting a new conversation clears the chat context used by this page, and refreshing the page resets it. A browser may restore a previous page when you navigate back, so leaving the page is not a promise of permanent deletion.

The application does not use advertising trackers or analytics scripts, and it does not keep persistent chat-history cookies or local storage. Temporary browser storage may be used to pass a question between pages; this is not a chat-history archive.

Fonts and photographs on these information pages are served from this website. Opening an official source or a provider-policy link takes you to that website, where its own privacy practices apply.

You choose what
to share.

• Keep it general. A situation like “I live abroad and need to renew a passport” is more useful here than an identity number.
• Start fresh. Use the new-conversation control when you want to clear this tab’s current chat context.
• Stop a response. You can stop an answer while it is being generated. This does not recall information already sent for processing.
• Go directly to the source. You can use the official websites without asking this assistant.

Clearing the conversation in your browser does not delete records that infrastructure or AI providers may independently retain.

Namaste, Bharat is an independent prototype. It is not affiliated with the Government of India and does not log in to your government accounts, submit applications, make payments, or upload documents on your behalf.

Use the responsible official service for those actions, and review its own privacy information before sharing personal details. AI guidance can be incomplete or incorrect; verify important requirements with the official source.
